Gabrielle Christina Victoria “Gabby” Douglas is a Women’s Artistic gymnast from America. She attained many prestigious titles and medals during her professional career at a very early age. Nicknamed as the “Flying Squirrel” she became the first African- American to be crowned as the Individual All-around champion in the Olympics history.

Gabby started her gymnastics journey very early at the age of three. She learned a straight cartwheel from her elder sister, Arielle’s technique who was also a former gymnast. By the age of four, Douglas had perfected a one-handed cartwheel.

She was crowned as the Virginia State Gymnastics Champion at just nine years of age.
