Ekana Stadium Billboard

In a disturbing news that is emerging out from the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, two people have died after a gigantic billboard came crashing down upon their vehicle which was still.

The incident happened outside the stadium and their SUV was stationary when the billboard fell down. There was a mother and a child inside the car and both of them have died. On the other hand, the driver of the vehicle has sustained severe injuries.

“The accident occurred in the area under the Sushant Golf City police station area. The incident brought the traffic to a grinding halt and created panic among commuters. Local residents informed the UP 112 emergency service, the nearest police station, and fire department officials,” reported the Police.

The deceased were Preeti Jaggi who was aged 38 and Angel who was aged 15. Both of them were going to a mall in the evening. Both were residents of the Indira Nagar Colony.

According to the reports, the police officials were on the scene and helped to promptly transport the casualties to the hospital.

A Scorpio SUV remained buried in the rubble while cranes were used to clear the enormous hoarding.

Several reports suggest that the billboards had the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 as their subjects. Notably, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) played their home matches at the Ekana Sports Stadium in Lucknow.

“On our way back, Preeti asked me to bring juice from a cart near Ekana Stadium. I parked the vehicle and brought juice. While we were sipping juice inside the SUV, gusty winds started blowing. A hoarding above us started creaking. I sensed danger and tried to start the vehicle but by then the hoarding fell on us,” said Sartaj, who was the driver of the vehicle.

Lucknow Super Giants finished 3rd in IPL 2023

After the completion of the league stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, the Lucknow team finished in the 3rd position, with 17 points under their belt.

But they lost in the Eliminator against a buoyant Mumbai Indians (MI) side by 81 runs. Aakash Madhwal of Mumbai Indians had scythed through the batting department of Lucknow Super Giants and had inflicted a gigantic defeat on them. Naveen-ul-Haq performed exceedingly well in the game despite being in the eye of the storm for his off-field antics on social media. The Afghani bowler bagged 4 wickets in the game and was the pick of the bowlers for the Krunal Pandya led Lucknow side.
