England have taken a 2-0 lead in the ongoing 4-match T20I series versus New Zealand. The Three Lions showed as to why they are the reigning world champions after their fabulous victory in the 2nd T20I.
Jos Buttler and co, registered a victory by a humongous margin of 95 runs and made sure that they now at least draw the series or win it. New Zealand were completely outclassed by a juggernaut in the form of England.
The batting department of New Zealand looked clueless and wilted under immense pressure. England have been quite consistent in this format and they have once again ruled the roost with this dominant win over the Kiwis.

1. The batters of New Zealand lacked application
New Zealand’s batting department faltered under pressure and were bundled out for a paltry score of 103 runs. None of the batters except Tim Seifert and Glenn Phillips played well and this is a big concern for the Kiwis.
In the absence of their regular skipper Kane Williamson, New Zealand haven’t been able to display their A-game and this definitely rings a lot of alarm bells.
2. Gus Atkinson’s fabulous debut
Gus Atkinson set the stage on fire in his debut game. The 25-year-old bowler bagged 4 wickets and sent shivers down the spines of the opposition bowlers with his exceptional bowling.
His wickets included Devon Conway, Tim Seifert, Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson and this made his debut even more memorable. This would most certainly bode well for him and his confidence levels in the coming games.
3. Jonny Bairstow’s blistering innings
A perennial performer of England, Jonny Bairstow once again stamped his authority in this game. Whenever Bairstow performs well, England fans can sleep well.
In the 2nd ENG vs NZ T20I, Bairstow was at his usual best. He smashed 86* runs in just 60 balls and helped England go to a commanding total. Bairstow’s good form is a big positive sign for England before the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
