Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh has been breathing fire with the willow in the ongoing T20I series versus Australia. The young and explosive middle-order batter has scored 99 runs in 3 innings and has an outstanding average of 99.

Several former cricketers and cricket pundits have garnered a lot of praise for the middle-order batter after his heroics with the bat. People have gone on to the extent that if he was present in India’s middle-order in the finals of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, we would have witnessed a different result in the finals.

Consistency has been key in Rinku Singh’s wide repertoire of skills and shots. He has been consistently delivering the goods with the willow and has won India, several games now in the shortest format in international cricket.

In the 4th T20I between India and Australia in Raipur, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter mustered 46 runs off just 29 deliveries and made sure that India reaches a competitive and formidable total in the 1st innings.

Famous cricketer commentator and cricket analyst, Aakash Chopra, heaped praise on Rinku and spoke hugely of him in his YouTube channel post his exceptional knock against Australia in Raipur.

“This series will be remembered for Rinku. He was given different roles in different positions, and he fulfilled them. He was very good. You can get him to bat anywhere. Here he got to bat in the ninth over. The six he hit with a reverse sweep was an exceptional hit,” said Aakash Chopra.

Aakash Chopra also voiced his opinion about Rinku Singh’s dismissal of leg-before-wicket and didn’t comply with the on-field umpire’s decision.

“He played till the end, got out in the 20th over. I feel he wasn’t out. The umpire shouldn’t have given it. Benefit of doubt goes to the batter, not to the umpire. Jitesh played well. It was an important match for him because he doesn’t get too many opportunities. He played good shots straight down the ground,” he added.

Axar Patel was the cynosure of all eyes in the 4th T20I

In India’s 20-run victory over their arch-rivals, Australia, Axar Patel emerged out as the ultimate doughty warrior. He bagged 3 wickets in the game, spun a web and bamboozled the opposition batters.

Travis Head, Ben McDermott and Aaron Hardie were the wickets of Axar Patel and he deservedly received the player of the match award.
