Delhi Premier League 2024 Details

The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024 is set to make its debut, bringing an exciting new T20 tournament to the capital of India. Scheduled to run from August 17 to September 8, 2024, the league will feature six franchises competing in a total of 40 matches at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The DPL 2024 comprises six franchises, each with a unique roster of players drafted from a pool of 270 cricketers, including national, Under-23, and Under-19 talents. 

The DPL 2024 player draft saw some major acquisitions, with Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma being standout picks for Purani Dilli 6. Other notable players include Navdeep Saini, who joined the West Delhi Lions, and Harshit Rana, who was picked by the North Delhi Strikers.

Brand Ambassador and Tournament Integrity

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the inaugural season, adding star power to the league’s launch. 

To ensure the tournament’s integrity, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) will implement the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Code, deploying officials to monitor the league closely.
