India Test Ranking Update

On Tuesday afternoon, Team India was given a moment of happiness when they discovered they were in first place in the ICC Test rankings. Fans tweeted about it, but it only happened for two hours.

Australia regained the top spot on the chart. Due to the fact that neither India nor Australia are now a part of any Test series and are scheduled to play one against each other next month, the ranking was changed as a result of a significant error on the ICC website.

Only at the conclusion of each series do ICC Test rankings frequently alter. After Australia defeated South Africa at home on January 8, it received its most recent update. They received 126 rating points, which put them in first position.

On the other hand, India last participated in a Test series in late December, when they easily defeated Bangladesh. They received 115 rating points, placing them second. Know the latest ICC test ranking.

Big blunder on the ICC website

The rankings are unlikely to change because there are no ongoing Test series, but on Tuesday afternoon, India managed to find their name at the top of the charts due to what later turned out to be a major error on the ICC website. Australia reclaimed the position, though, two hours later after the ICC website glitch was fixed.

India does, however, have a chance to win the championship when the Border-Gavaskar series starts on February 9. India can defeat Australia if they triumph by a score of 2-0 or more. But the World Test Championship final will be India and Australia’s main focus.
