Shubman Gill 1000 runs

In the first ODI against New Zealand, India elected to bat first, and opener Shubman Gill kept up his huge performance. Gill, who is 23 years and 132 days old, made one-day international history by being the youngest batsman to ever make a double hundred. He also achieves the milestone as the fifth Indian batsman.

Gill also broke the record for the quickest Indian to score 1000 runs in ODIs on Wednesday, doing it in just 19 innings, beating out players like Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.

Along with Imam Ul Haq of Pakistan, Gill, who made his ODI debut in January 2019, became the joint second-fastest player to 1000 runs in terms of innings. In 18 innings, Fakhar Zaman scored more than 1000 runs.

In 24 innings, Gill’s fellow Indian teammates Kohli and Dhawan had amassed 1000 runs. In just 87 balls, the opener scored his third ODI century. After being dropped on 45, the opener quickly reached his first ODI double-century in 145 balls.
