India vs Australia 3rd T20I looks like a roller coaster ride for the fielders from both the teams. On one side some players dropped easy catches. Meanwhile, some like Sanju Samson and Steve Smith displayed a brilliant piece of fielding in order to save certain runs for their side. In the 1st inning, Samson avoids a six on the back of his mind-wobbling fielding. Later on, Steve Smith also joined the bandwagon.
In Sydney Cricket Ground it is always difficult to take catches in day-night games. And, the same thing happened during the 3rd T20I between India and Australia. The bowlers from both teams were rubbed with a pinch of salt due to some dropped catches by their teammates.
Steve Smith Turns Superman In 3rd T20I
On one side, Team India aims to defeat Australia and register a historic clean sweep. On the other hand, the hosts will want to gain momentum going ahead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Also, it will be a consolation for the brilliant effort of the players.
Coming onto the game, Steve Smith didn’t have the best of his days in batting. He scored only 24 runs off 23 balls before getting out to Washington Sundar. He took 21 balls to score his first boundary of the game. But he had a busy day in fielding and set a beautiful example in front of his teammates.
On the 3rd delivery of the 13 over, Steve Smith took a sitter to send Sanju Samson back to the pavilion. It was the first wicket for Mitchell Swepson. But what happened on the very next delivery was simply a beautiful sight for any upcoming cricketer and ardent follower of cricket.
Virat Kohli went for maximum on the fourth delivery over the long-on. He got his timing right and everyone thought that it will be an easy six. However, the eagled-eye Steve Smith and jumps as high he could grab an exceptional catch and release the ball back into the game. In replays, it was easily visible that the former Aussie skipper saved four runs with his acrobatic fielding for his team.
