Shubman Gill, the right-handed batsman is not having a good time as a batsman in whites. He has not done well in the ongoing four-match Test series against England. And, his name has been brought under the scanner for not performing at his best. Now, former legendary batsman, VVS Laxman has said that there is a technical glitch in his batting due to which he has suffered while playing for Team India.

Shubman Gill came into the international circuit with a bang on performance. He did well against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2021. But since his return to India, Shubman Gill has suffered a pro run with the bat. He has recorded only 119 runs in three games with the help of a fifty.

VVS Laxman Finds Technical Glitch In Shubman Gill’s Batting Style

During the commentary, VVS Laxman said that Shbman Gill needs to work hard on how to play against incoming deliveries. As per him, he will always be in problem on a flat wicket like Chennai, Ahmedabad. He also added that Shubman Gill is not a very technically sound batter

The former player asserted that the youngster will be under immense pressure as KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are waiting for their turn to come on the bench.

“Definitely (he needs to work against the incoming deliveries)… especially on a wicket like this which is a flat one compared to the previous pitches in Chennai and Ahmedabad,” Laxman said in the post-match show on Star Sports.

“He’s got a little bit of a technical issue. You can see his head is falling over, his right leg is coming across just to over-compensate. I just felt once he got started, he did not convert them into big scores and now the pressure will be on him, you also have to remember you’ve got KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal waiting for their opportunities,” Laxman added.
