Krunal Pandya made his ODI debut against England in the 1st ODI and he managed to turn sp 1otlight towards him with his brilliant batting. And, it was quite frustrating for the English bowlers due to which pacer Tom Curran got involved in a heated exchange with Indian debutant in order to shift latters focus from the game. Even, the eagled eye cameramen recorded Virat Kohli’s reaction, who was sitting in the dugout at that time.

England once again got lucky and won the toss. Eoin Morgan then elected to bat first and his bowlers bowled an impressive first spell. England pacer Mark Wood and Sam Curran managed to restrict Indian openers. But they failed in getting a wicket. At one point, England managed a comeback in the match as they dismissed 5 Indian batsmen at a nominal score of 205 runs. It looked like Team India will not be able to manage a respectable total on the scoreboard. But, then debutant Krunal Pandya and KL Rahul managed scintillating knocks with their bat.

Krunal Pandya vs Tom Curran In 1st ODI, Things Got Heated Up Between The Two Players

Krunal acquired an aggressive approach and smashed the fastest ODI fifty by a debutant. He recorded his maiden ODI fifty in just 26 balls. On the other hand, KL Rahul was back in his peach form and smashed 62 runs off 43 balls. England bowlers looked helpless against Indian batsmen till the final over. Meanwhile, an instance happened that attracted everyone’s attention including Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

The instance happened in the penultimate over of the game when Tom Curran chirped few words to Krunal Pandya. And, the latter reaction was enough to show that words from the former didn’t go down well with Indian debutant.

Before things could have gone from bad to worse, the on-field umpire came in between to resolve the matter and asked both the players to concentrate on the game. There is still no clarity on why such a heated exchange took place between the two players.

Coming onto the game, England got a big total of 317 runs to chase in stipulated 50 overs. The visitors got off to a remarkable start in the 1st ODI on the back of their openers Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy. The duo stitched an exceptional partnership of 135 runs. But, things slipped out of England’s reach after the departure of their openers. And, England lost the 1st ODI by 66 runs.
