RR vs RCB 2023

Rajasthan Royals (RR) were absolute crushed aside by a dominant Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Match 59 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. This was the 3rd lowest total in the history of IPL and RCB have always been involved in some way in lowest totals.

RCB steamrolled past the home side by 112 runs and this was a huge win. Faf Du Plessis’s men are now in the mix for the IPL 2023 playoffs as they catapulted to the 5th position in the points table and have an excellent run-rate, which came after this win.

Sanju Samson’s men are practically out of the IPL 2023 playoffs contention and need to win their last match and also depend on other teams’ performances for their qualification.

1. Rajasthan bundled out for a paltry score of 59 runs

The Sanju Samson-led side were steamrolled by a dominant RCB side as they got bundled out for just 59 runs. None of the batters except Shimron Hetmetyer got their bearings right as they were simply thrown into darkness by the RCB bowlers.

It all started with Rajasthan’s famed opening pair in the form of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal getting out for ducks and they simply lost their way in the middle.

2. Wayne Parnell impresses in his comeback

Replacing Josh Hazlewood in the playing XI of RCB, Wayne Parnell bowled exceedingly well. The Proteas pacer bagged 3 wickets and conceded just 10 runs in 3 overs. It was his exceptional bowling that set the stage for RCB to capitalize and win the game.

He deservedly bagged the player of the match award after his stupendous bowling.

3. Faf Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell set up RCB’s total

It was once again the duo of Faf Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell that did the trick for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. While skipper Du Plessis scored 55 runs in 44 balls, Glenn Maxwell scored 54 runs in just 33 balls. Class and elegance exuded from the bats of these two legends and it was a visual treat to watch them play!

It set the stage for RCB and the bowlers simply took the momentum over and won RCB the game in this decisive one. Both teams desperately needed a win and it felt like RCB were the hungrier one.
