Popular actress Rashmika Mandhana who is often labelled as the “National Crush Of India” has now revealed her favourite cricketer. The 27-year-old actress had performed at the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on 31st March 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and her performance received a lot of praise and adulation.
Now, in an interaction with Star Sports, Rashmika Mandhana has revealed her favourite cricketer and it is none other than the legendary Virat Kohli. She was also asked about her favourite team in the IPL and she said it was Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
“Ee Sala Cup Namde (this year the Cup is ours). So I think that just carried on. I hope this year I can go and see RCB play. Virat sir. He is a swagger. He is awesome,” said Rashmika Mandhana.
Virat Kohli has been in top-notch form in IPL 2023
The legendary batter has been in stupendous form in IPL 2023 and has been the second-highest run-scorer for the Bangalore franchise. He has played the role of an enforcer quite beautifully and has so far mustered 364 runs in just 9 games.
With an average of 45.50, Virat Kohli is a strong contender in the Orange Cap list, which is given to the player with the most number of runs in an edition of IPL. He has previously been a recipient of this award in 2016 when he amassed 973 runs.
RCB took their revenge against LSG
After losing to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) earlier this season by a slender margin of 1 wicket, RCB bounced back and defeated the Lucknow franchise by 18 runs. Post the game, there were ugly scenes of a verbal encounter among Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir and Naveen-ul-Haq.
Things took centre-stage after the game and skipper KL Rahul and Krishnappa Gowtham’s efforts to stop an aggressive Gautam Gambhir didn’t bear any fruits.
RCB next lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) on 6th May 2023 and Lucknow will be playing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 3rd May 2023.
