In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Wriddhiman Saha hogged the limelight for a lot of reasons. Firstly, he played a top-notch innings of 81 runs in just 43 balls.

Then in the 2nd innings, Wriddhiman Saha was seen wearing his trousers in the other way round. Skipper Hardik Pandya of Gujarat Titans (GT) and a few other players of GT couldn’t control their laughter as they saw Saha with that trouser.

After the game, the 38-year-old wicket-keeper spoke to KS Bharath about this incident to the IPL website and he revealed the reason behind him wearing the trouser like that.

“I was eating, then the Physio told me to take medicine, and meanwhile, the needling session was also on. In a rush, I wore the trousers the other way around down. But after two overs, I returned, and you did a wonderful job,” said Wriddhiman Saha.

Wriddhiman Saha forged a 142-run partnership with Shubman Gill

Batting first, Gujarat posted a mammoth 227 runs on the board. And one of the main reasons why this was possible was because of the exceptional start given by the two openers of Gujarat.

A total of 142 runs were scored by Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill as they went ballistic with the willow.

“Preparation was like every game. In the last match, I scored 40, and Hardik played well. I wanted to carry forward the same momentum. My plus point is that I take chances in the powerplay. My strength is to play cricketing shots and I back myself to pick the gaps,” said Saha about his innings in the GT vs LSG game.

In the opening two overs of the GT innings, Saha instantly put pressure on the visitors’ bowlers by hitting Mohsin Khan for a few fours and Avesh Khan for a six and a four.

Gujarat eventually won the game by 56 runs

The defending champions of the IPL won the game by 56 runs and they reached 14 points with this win. GT are very close to sealing a spot in the playoffs and they would be hoping to defend their crown this season.

Shubman Gill had bagged the player of the match award for his sensational knock of 94* runs in just 51 deliveries. His innings was packed with 2 fours and 7 sixes and he played with a blistering strike-rate of 184.31.
