Harbhajan Singh, the veteran Indian spinner has finally revealed that why he didn’t take part in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League. The of-spinner is one of the best bowlers in the history of IPL and has grabbed 150 plus wickets since the league came into inception.

The 40-year-old was released by the former IPL champion Chennai Super Kings ahead of the 14th edition auction. He will be part of the player market and is one of the bowlers with the highest base price. Harbhajan has not played a single game since IPL 2019. Even he didn’t feature in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 season.

During an interview, Harbhajan said that he is looking forward to the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. And, he is well prepared for the 14th edition. The veteran Indian spinner revealed that he walked out of the previous edition as he wanted to stay with his family during the pandemic.

“I am looking forward to the IPL, I am preparing hard for it. Even last year, I was keen on playing but because of the pandemic, I could not. I needed to be around my family. At that stage I thought skipping IPL was the right decision,” Harbhajan told Cricbuzz in a recent interaction.

Bhajji asserted that there is still a lot of cricket left in him. And, he is all fit to take part in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

“There is a lot of cricket left in me, very much. Fitness-wise, I am quite fit, I worked hard on my fitness during the lockdown. Unfortunately, I could not do anything (participate in the IPL). I am looking forward to being in the park again and doing what I can do best,” he added.
